Obituary
Robert Denis (Bobby) Noël died tragically on Friday, September 2, 2022, in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He was 47 years old. Bobby was born in McLennan, Alberta on March 5, 1975, the youngest child of Jacques & Juliette (Aubin) Noël. He grew up and lived all of his youth in Guy, Alberta, enjoying small town life. He graduated from the University of Alberta Campus Saint Jean with a Bachelor of Education degree in 1997. Bobby’s first teaching job was at École St. Gérard with the Grande Prairie Catholic school district teaching grade 4 French Immersion. After several years, he moved to École Parkside then École Montrose schools in the Grande Prairie Public School Division where he was the physical education specialist. He taught students from kindergarten to grade eight. Bobby was proud of his French-Canadian heritage and enjoyed helping students play and learn in French throughout his twenty-four-year teaching career.
On August 1, 1998, Bobby married Tracey Cloutier. Together they moved into their first home in Clairmont. During this time, ambitious Bobby, while teaching full-time, started his Deck-it-out vinyl decking business. In 2002 Bobby and Tracey sold everything they owned and moved to Dominican Republic where Bobby taught at the International School of Sosua for one year.
On March 26, 2005, Bobby married Jody Dryer and was proud to raise Jody’s daughter, Jada, as his own. The birth of son, Kyran, on October 30, 2005 was Bobby’s proudest moment. He loved being a dad and spent endless hours giving of himself, to provide the very best for his kids. They moved to an acreage in the same subdivision as sister Ginette and husband Gilles where Bobby enjoyed preparing the skating rink for the kids to enjoy. He was a devoted family man who always put others above himself.
In 2019, Bobby became Kyran’s primary caregiver and together they moved into their home in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He was an excellent father who especially loved playing basketball in the backyard with Kyran and cheering him on at all his sporting events. Bobby’s life ended much too soon. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Bobby is survived by his son Kyran, sister Ginette (Gilles Pelé), mom Juliette Noël-Johnson (Denis Johnson) as well as nephews and niece (Jayden, Kyle, Erin Pelé). He is predeceased by his dad, Jacques Noël, and grandparents Gabriel and Edwidge Noël and Benoit and Cécile Aubin.
A celebration of life will be held at the Guy Community Center at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 17th, 2022. For immediate family members only, interment will follow at the St. Guy Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Bobby’s memory may be made to the Guy Cemetery Fund (P.O. Box 281 Guy, Alberta T0H 1Y0)
