Obituary
Bob Best passed away peacefully in his 94th year, surrounded by the love of his family, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Sunday December 18, 2022. Dearly loved husband of the late Doris Best. Loving father of Brad Best (Kathy), of Campbell River, B.C., Bev Best (Jackie), of Toronto and Anne O’Halloran (Jack) of Vancouver, B.C. Cherished by his grandchildren Alex, Mitchell (Paige), Dallas, Nathan, Zach and Emma. Sadly missed by his great-grandchildren Lyndon, Jaxon and Presley. Predeceased by his parents George and Hazel Best (nee McClean), and his sister Doreen Harron (Lorne). Bob is survived by his special friend, Aulda McCauley.
Although Bob’s heart was always tied to the Woodford farming community, where he and Doris raised their family, his passion for meeting people lead him to a second career in car sales and then later in life a third career in real estate. He still found the time to participate in condo boards, Georgian Shores Church committees, Silver C’s and lots of golfing.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario, N4K 3X8, 519-376-7492. A service and interment in Greenwood Cemetery will take place at a later date.
If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation as your expression of sympathy. Condolences can be sent to Bob’s family by visiting his memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
