Blair Robertson 2022

With profound sadness, the family of Blair Johnston Robertson announce his death from a sudden unexpected health condition on Friday, Dec. 16 at Miramichi Hospital. He was 58 years old, and had recently been appointed as Executive Chef of O’Donaghue’s in Miramichi. He was proud to finally achieve this career-long goal, at the pub where his skills as a cook and kitchen manager have earned the appreciation of owners, coworkers and patrons alike.
Born in Truro, Blair grew up both there and later in Caledonia, N.S. Drawn out West as a young man, he embarked upon a career as a cook and food service manager working in oilfield camps and roadside diners throughout Alberta. Over the years, he furthered his skills and experience through positions in broad range of food related environments including restaurants, bars, and institutional settings. In the early 90s, he operated his own restaurant in Wolfville (College Town Take Out). Two decades ago, his life’s journey brought him to New Brunswick, where he furthered his reputation as a cook at some of the Miramichi region’s fishing and sport lodges before at arriving at O’Donaghue’s.
Blair is survived by his partner Jeanine (Lou Lou) Robichaud, her son Aldonice (Cynthia) and grandchildren Chloey and Zoey, sister-in-law Pauline and her daughter Lindsey, all of Miramichi; sister Brenda Robertson (Wendy Bedingfield) and brother Bruce Robertson (Terry Sheehy) of Wolfville, N.S.; brother Brian Robertson (Sumitra) of Abbottsford, B.C., along with niece and nephews Manjulika, Khirode and Tushar Robertson. Blair was predeceased by his parents Alexander Wishart (Sandy) and Thelma Joan (Chew) Robertson of Truro and Wolfville, N.S., as well as his grandparents, uncle and aunt. Also grieving his passing are the staff and patrons of O’Donaghue’s. Known for his deep love of cats, Blair will be especially missed by his feline companion Millie.
Well-liked for his gentle charm and wit, he was especially known for having a heart as big as his imposing physical stature, and was considered by more than a few as an ‘adopted’ member of their families. He took particular joy from watching the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, and will humorously be remembered by friends and family for his extreme loathing of bees.
A celebration of Blair’s life will be held early in the New Year.

  1. Deepest sympathy to all Blairs family and friends. Blair will sure be missed by many. But he also will be remembered for his funny jokes and actions but mostly for all his delicious meals. Which my family was blessed to enjoy many times.
    Reat Easy Blair❤️

  2. Rest Easy Blair! We worked many places together over the years! Had our share of disagreements and even more laughs! You were the gentle Giant who would scream like a girl and run a mile from a small little bee! You will be greatly missed!
