Billy Lincoln Tkachyk Saturday December 24th 2022

Billy Lincoln Tkachyk
May 31, 1958 – December 24, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother,
Billy Lincoln Tkachyk. Bill passed away on December 24, 2022 at the age of 64 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital after a 10-month battle with cancer.
Bill was born in Fort Frances, Ontario on May 31, 1958 to Steve and Irene Tkachyk. He was the first of five children. Bill spent his entire life in Fort Frances; he knew everyone!
In the summer of 1984 Bill became a father for the first time when his son Dustin was born.
Bill met the love of his life, Yvonne in 1995. A short time later in the spring of 1996, they welcomed their son Tyson. After 27 years together, Bill and Yvonne officially tied the knot in July 2022 in a small, private wedding ceremony in Fort Frances.
Bill was one of the hardest working men you could have ever met. Bill retired from Canada Safeway in May of 2020 after 46 years of employment – but he did not stop working! He also worked for Pepsi Corporation for 11 years and continued working part-time for Pepsi after he retired.
One of his favourite places to be was their campsite at McDonald’s Inlet on Rainy Lake. Bill spent time renovating a camper so it would be perfect for him and Yvonne to spend time together at the lake. Fishing and hunting were a big part of Bill’s life. Many walleye were caught in the old green skiff. When fall came around, he enjoyed partridge hunting on the trails and he was an avid moose hunter in his younger days.
Bill and Yvonne also loved to travel whenever possible. There were trips to the East Coast (he loved the food),
Calgary for the Stampede and most recently, Las Vegas.
Another passion of Bill’s was hockey. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and he has taken all the jabs that Leafs fans endure! Bill spent lots of early mornings and late nights watching his sons play hockey as kids. Recently he’s been back in the arena watching his oldest grandson, Chase play.
Bill was predeceased by his father Stafan ‘Steve’ Tkachyk (March 19, 2003) and his mother Irene Veronica Tkachyk (October 10, 2008).
Bill is survived by his wife Yvonne Noonan, sons Dustin (Jennifer) Tkachyk and Tyson (Katerina) Tkachyk, grandsons Chase, Walker and Finn Tkachyk, in-laws Leonard and Nancy Noonan, sister-in-law Theresa Noonan and brother in-law Howard Guy, brothers Mike Tkachyk and John Tkachyk, sisters Kathy Robb and Ann Tkachyk as well as his nieces and nephews.
Bill loved his family and he was an exceptional grandpa. He will be truly missed and will never be forgotten.
In remembrance of Bill and his admirable strength during his cancer battle, we ask that you consider making a
donation to the Tbaytel Tamarack House at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital or the Best for Kitty organization in Fort Frances.
In lieu of a traditional memorial service, a come and go celebration of life will take place on
Friday December 30 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at 919 Frenette Avenue in Fort Frances.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Billy Lincoln Tkachyk Saturday December 24th 2022  and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
