Bill Robson Saturday January 22nd 2022

William “Bill” Michael Robson, of Mildmay passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the age of 67.
While Bill’s passing is deeply saddening, he fought for more than two years following his cancer diagnosis to spend time with those he loved, celebrating his time with optimism and bravery. Bill was a people person, someone who put his family, friends, and his community first.
Bill was proud to live in Mildmay and leaves a legacy of service to his community. Bill spent most of his life as a devoted firefighter, starting in Chesley at the age of 18 and retiring from the Mildmay-Carrick Fire Department in 2006. He was a chartered Lion’s member in 1976 and remained active until his passing 46 years later. Bill was a man of strong faith and volunteered a lot of time to his parish in Mildmay serving on the Cemetery Board Committee and as Secretary.
Aside from volunteering, Bill was a part of almost every sport in Mildmay including baseball, horseshoes, tennis, and he played hockey until the Last Train. He was a diehard Leafs fan and of the Toronto Blue Jays. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and made time for those regular calls to siblings, nieces and nephews genuinely asking how they were and to check to see what car they were driving. Bill also enjoyed his motorcycle, reading, playing cards, his Chicago-based TV series line-up and newfound love for Yellowstone.
His smile was one that afforded him the natural ability to build strong connections with people which was the foundation for his successful career in car sales and the many personal relationship he built in his community.
Bill will be deeply missed by the hundreds of people whose lives he touched, especially his family. Thank you to everyone who reached out during COVID or spent time with Bill over the past two years. Bill left us knowing he was loved.
Bill leaves behind his loving and supportive wife of 42 years, Darleen (nee Eickmeier) and the pride and joy of his life, his girls Vanessa (Andrew Harrison) of Brooklin and Melissa (Will Sutherland) of Hespeler. Cherished grandfather of Krystian, Liam, Isaac, Cadence, Willy and James. Dear son, born to Doreen (nee Lobsinger) of Chesley and through marriage to Orbin and Dory Eickmeier of Pike Lake. Beloved brother of Robert (Sally) of Kitchener, Paul (Heather) of Lindsay, Terry (Deb) of Hanover and Beth Ann (Dennis) MacDonald of Chesley, and to his Eickmeier siblings Dan (Cathy) of Walkerton, Daphne Zuniga and Debbie Drake both of Waterloo, Dwight (Marlene) of Mildmay, and Darcy (Joanna) of Kitchener.
Bill was predeceased by his father Bill Sr.
