Surrounded by his family, Bhajan “Pudge” Bawa passed away at the age of 85. Born to Bawa Singh and Purn Kaur in Duncan BC, he was predeceased by his brothers Ajeet and Ragbir. Pudge is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gurmit “Harjeet”, son Rajin (Baljit), daughter Anita (Narindar), grandchildren Taylor, Davis, Daniella and Carson, along with his brothers Sirjeet, (Daljeet) and Sarban (Nirmal), sisters in-law Gurmeet and Terry and many nieces and
nephews.
The beauty of our lives, lives in the hearts of those who we loved. Pudge loved his family, extended family, his Marpole Transport family and his community. He took great joy in celebrating the successes of family and community alike. Pudge had a generous nature and was always willing to lend a helping hand. In 2020 he was the recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement award.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam can be made to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, cdhfoundation.ca a cause he supported and was a director of for many years. The family would like to thank Dr. Ibrahim and the compassionate and hardworking staff at the Cowichan District Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at Mellor Hall 7380 Trans-Canada Hwy Duncan BC (Cowichan Exhibition Park) at 11:00 am on July 2, 2022. After the service friends and family are invited to attend Paldi Sikh Temple at 23 Paldi Rd, Lake Cowichan, BC for a prayer service.
