Obituary of Bev Melvin
Melvin: Beverley Florence “Bev” (nee Uren) –
A resident of Ridgetown and a member of the Ridgetown Baptist Church , Bev passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with her loving family at her side on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 67.
Born in Sioux Lookout, Bev was the daughter of the late Elvin and Elsie (Otto) Uren.
Beloved wife of 44 years to Donald Melvin.
Cherished mother of Jennifer Vanderploeg (Scott), Sandra Taylor and Keith Melvin.
Proud grandmother Colemun, Nathen, Tobius, Aaron, Chloe, John, Lucas, Heidi, Isaac, Elizabeth and Samuel.
Bev is survived by her brother’s Bob Uren (Patricia) and Bill Uren (Patricia).
Bev began her career as an RPN in Sioux Lookout before dedicating her life to the well being of her family. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping trips with her family, memories that they will cherish for their lifetime. Bev was an avid sewer, making clothes for all her children, she also loved music especially singing. She had a servant’s heart when it came to behind the scenes preparations in the church community and also home. Bev fought a courageous battle with cancer in her brain which slowly depleted her vigor for life.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service to celebrate Bev’s life at 2:00 p.m. Pastor R.G.”Bob” Uren officiating Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations to honour Bev’s life can made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice and would be appreciated by the family.
