Beverley (Bev) Edwards Ronson, 75, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer in the early hours of May 25, 2022 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, surrounded after saying his farewells to family and friends.
Bev was predeceased by his parents, the late Alice Ronson (nee Edwards) and late Murray Ronson, as well as his brothers Richard, Gordon, James and David and nephew Shane Butler. He is survived by his brother Kenneth and sisters Barbara McLachlan (Lloyd) and Katie Folkins (Doug), nieces Elizabeth, Sarah and Jessica (Graham) and great-nephews James and Anderson.
Bev spent a large portion of his life at Southwestern Regional Centre, Blenheim as an active participant in residential activities and worked as a farmer in the fields managed by the Centre. Upon its closure, Bev moved to a group home through Community Living Chatham-Kent, where he found enjoyment through outings, cultural events, church, watching the work of dump trucks and diggers, adding to his collection of cars and trains, and going out for coffee.
He was a quiet, gentle soul who always greeted everyone with enthusiasm, and said good-bye with that same enthusiasm, a smile and a laugh. He will be missed by all his friends at the group home and the staff (past and present) who took such wonderful care of him, and cherished him during his senior years.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday May 30, 2022 at 1 pm at Life Transitions Burial and Cremation Service Inc (397 McNaughton Ave W.), followed by a private burial at Craford Cemetery.
