Beverley Louise Tucker Thursday September 1st 2022

Beverley L. Tucker 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY on Thursday,September 1, 2022. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Richard M. Tucker and Margaret (Bennet) Tucker. She was also predeceased by her brother Richard B. Tucker.
Beverley attended local schools and graduated in 1953 from Niagara University. Beverley followed in her mother’s footsteps by becoming a Registered Nurse and was greatly influenced by both parents including her father, a medical doctor. She was born at home and lived there all her life. At her father’s office in the family home, Beverley watched him treat many patients. For over 25 years, Beverley was a professor of nursing at Niagara University, retiring as an Associate Professor of Senior Nursing in 1989. After retirement, she worked in a local nursing home as a nurse for a brief time.
As a child, Beverley enjoyed family vacations at their home on Lake Erie in Fonthill, Ontario, including riding the neighbor’s horse and swimming in the Lake. She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Niagara Falls, and later an active member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Niagara Falls and St. Paul’s Church, Lewiston. Beverley was a member of the Niagara Frontier Cocker Spaniel Club and a lifetime member of the Kennel Club of Niagara Falls. She actively volunteered for years in both clubs serving in various committees and making sure that the shows went well by doing whatever needed to be done, including one that was one of the biggest shows in the country. Beverley showed her dogs competitively in both confirmation and obedience. She had two champions and also had dogs with titles in obedience. She and her friends travelled the East coast and Canada to compete in shows. She was a volunteer for the Willing Workers Senior Group at Mt. Erie Baptist Church which did numerous community service projects. Beverley enjoyed making crafts, especially as gifts of friendship to others. She loved to shop, particularly for antiques. For many years, she participated in water walking classes held by NF Adult Continuing Education led by Sue Nicholas. She loved gardening and animals, especially her Corgi, Cocker Spaniels and cats.
Beverley will be dearly missed by her longtime friends Evelyn Van Uden, Dona and Lawrence Fenzel, Father Isaac and Agatha Ihiasota and family, Dr. Anna Gavriluke, Mother Barbara Price, Judy Chapman and Mary Maloney. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the nurses at the many facilities who cared for Beverley.
Beverley will be laid to rest in the family plot at Fonthill Cemetery in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm. There will be no prior visitation.
