Obituary of Betty Ruth Johnston
Peacefully at Strathroy Hospital on March 1st, 2022, Betty (Blanchard) Johnston passed away at the age of 70. Beloved wife of John Johnston for 35 incredible years. Cherished sister of Kitty (Ken) Stubbs and Bud Blanchard (the late Anita Blanchard, 2021). Lovingly remembered by siblings-in-law Jeannette (James Bradley) Decarlo, Gale (Dave) Buffet, and Grant (Audrey) Johnston. Cherished aunt of Corrie, Chad (Melissa), and Madison Stubbs; Christina (Paul Arsenault) Blanchard and their children, Jacob and Derek; Vernon and Elizabeth Blanchard; and Sarah and Amy Decarlo. Predeceased by her parents Vern and Alma Blanchard, parents-in-law Morley and Jean Johnston, and brother-in-law Brian Johnston. Betty will forever be remembered by her extended family, many dear friends, and her very special furry friend George.
Betty was a long-time cashier at the TSC here in Strathroy for 25 years. Betty loved animals, especially cats. Betty was also a big fan of her computer games, in particular the puzzles and solitaire.
In memory of Betty, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Humane Society. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring. Online donations and condolences can be left at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
