Cunningham, Betty Lou (nee Moore)
A resident of Chatham, formerly of Cedar Springs, Betty Cunningham passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday, November 7, 2022.
She was the daughter of the late Doris Ruth (1994) & Alex Newman (1974), and reunited with her sister, Carol Johnston (2020).
Always remembered by her loving husband of 62 beautiful years, John Henry Cunningham.
Loving mother of Thomas William (Rhoda), James John & Maralee Noltie (John).
Proud grandmother of Erin (Gary) & Heather (Carlos) Cunningham, Jennifer, Michael & David (Emily) Cunningham, Daniel (Marissa) & Bradley (Carley) Noltie.
Great-grandmother of Harper, Peyton, Sawyer, Denica, Aynsley, & Lochlyn.
Sister of Gary Newman (Ena) and aunt of Kristina & Jason Newman, Leisa Pinsoneault & Callie Russel.
Born in Kenabeek, Ontario on August 17, 1940, she grew up in Toronto until the age of 16 when she moved to Chatham with her family. She retired from the Southwest Regional Centre after 27 years as a Counselor. Betty enjoyed her time volunteering with the Geranium House from August 1996 until 2015. Along with spending her time creating various crafts, needlework, candle wicking, embroidery and time with friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A Graveside Service for Betty will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
