Obituary of Betty Jean Greenwood
The family of Betty Jean Greenwood (nee Scott) announces her peaceful passing into Paradise with her Lord on August 28, 2022 at the age of 90.
Beloved wife of the late Norman Vincent Greenwood (2013). Cherished mother of Denise, Shelley (Greg Klatt) and Allan. Loving Nana to Mitchell Klatt (wife Marina) and Alanna Klatt (fiancé Hernani). Predeceased by her sister Bernice Dickson (Scott). She will be missed by her sister-in-law Eileen Greenwood.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a gentle-spirited wife, mother, nana, and aunt. Her faith in Christ was unfailing. Deeply devoted to her church, she always put others and family first. “BJ” was an avid gardener, bird and animal enthusiast, foodie, and loved camping and the outdoors. She enjoyed travel immensely whether it near or far.
Ever in the kitchen, Betty will also be remembered for her cooking and baking. Her breads and pies seemed legendary. She loved simple and traditional things like Sunday roast beef dinners, early to bed, and early to rise. Coffee before the sun was up was the norm. She was the superlative host and you never left Betty’s table hungry. Her favourite morning “sneak” was to enjoy a piece of cake or pie before breakfast and before anyone was up.
Visitation will take place on Thursday September 1st, 2022 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY from 11:30AM-1:00PM followed by a private family graveside service at Strathroy Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family appreciates donations made to First Baptist Church, Strathroy. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Betty
