The Runnalls family announce with great sadness the death of their beloved Betty at the Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland on Saturday November 19th, 2022. She is survived by her husband J.E. (Jack), son John (Cathy Hanley), daughter’s Ann (Bill McCrea), Janet (Tom Cullen), and Laura (Peter Stangl). There are ten grandchildren and five great grand children. Daughter of the late George Baigent and Marjory Hellyer, Betty was born in Villa Nova, Ontario of the 17th of July, 1930. Predeceased by sister Margaret (Al Clarke).
Betty graduated from the MacDonald Institute at the Ontario Agriculture College in 1951. She and Jack were married in 1953 and moved to Peterborough. She taught a variety of hostess and cooking skills for many years. She and her family were active members of Murray Street Baptist Church for over 60 years. Betty was also a Past President of the Women’s Art Association of Peterborough.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551. Interment will take place next year in Greenwood Cemetery, Thompson Rd E, Waterford, Ontario. If desired, donations can be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
