Peacefully on June 3, 2022 at the grand age of 94. Predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Albert Ives (2017), and their cherished son, Douglas (Cynthia) Ives (2021). Forever to be remembered by daughters Kathryn (Gregory) Rutherford and Joanne (Dan) Cerovec, their children Tania (Darryl) Ballard, David (Jacqueline) Ives, Mark (Paulina) Ives, Danielle Cerovec, and Adrian (Kaitlyn) Cerovec with Great-Grandchildren Theodore, Violet, Hudson, Sullivan, and an expected arrival later this year. Also to be missed by her sister, Isobel Shearer, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty was a Charter Member of the Canadian Quilters Association and Founding Member of Windsor Quilters Guild and Leamington Quilters Guild. She was an internationally known, award-winning, published, quilt artist and Instructor having taught privately, at conventions, and for St. Clair College since 1976. Her quilts have been exhibited worldwide and she will be greatly missed by students and admirers alike.
Visitation 12-1pm, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Families First, 3260 Dougall Avenue, South Windsor, with a “Celebration of Life” Service at 1pm. Cremation with interment in the Ives Family Plot, at Lakeview Cemetery, Leamington, Ontario.
