Passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 21, 2022, Betty Barkley (nee Smirle) of Chesterville, age 80. Beloved wife of the late Ken Barkley. Loving mother of Debi Shay (Glendon) of Chesterville and Terry Barkley (Christine) of Chesterville. Dear sister of Bill Smirle (Nancy) of Morewood, Kaye Hanna (late Garry) of Finch and Nancy Logtens (late Tony) of Berwick. Betty will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Courtney (Kenny), Kaitlin, Jordan (Bri), Laura (Matt), Sarah (Mike), Meghan (Mike) and her great-grandchildren Kalli, Addie, Hannah, Carter, Nolan, Hazel, Lincoln, Emerson, Grayden, Amelia and Cormac. She was predeceased by her parents Milllan and Edna Smirle (nee Nephew). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
A private family funeral service will be held at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville. Interment of cremated remains will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. Donations to Dundas County Hospice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
