Betty B. Sharp – age 89, passed away Monday, January, 24, 2022 in Bartow, FL. Born February 18, 1932 in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late William John McSwain and Artie (Gass) McSwain. Mrs. Sharp was a homemaker and also worked as a Food Service Representative for the Polk County School Board for several years. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Sharp and seven siblings.
She is survived her son, Mark T. Sharp (Diane) of Bartow; grandchildren, Cheyenne Schaffer (Thomas) of Titusville, Cody Sharp of Bartow and Cassidy Sharp of Bartow. She also leaves behind siblings, Faye Herman (Bill) of Orlando, Billy McSwain (Peggy) of Strawberry Plains, TN, Yvonne Heath of Knoxville, TN; and great grandchildren, Landon and Waylon.
The family received friends on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, FL. The family will receive friends in Knoxville, TN from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, TN, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Donald Sharp.
