Obituary
Liz passed peacefully away at Moog & Friends Hospice in Penticton, BC on July 27, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.
Liz was born May 11, 1934 to Johann Schramm and Anna Hoerl in Nurnberg, Germany. She moved her young family to Canada and started working at Blue Label Bottling, where she met the love of her life, Fred. Liz and Fred married in 1975, blending their families, and moved to Penticton in 1975.
In Penticton Liz worked as a controller at Valley First Credit Union, going on to sit on the Board of Directors in various positions from 1991 – 2006.
Liz’s other love was gardening and plants (particularly orchids); she was an active member of the Penticton Garden Club for over 20 years. She also enjoyed many activities (such as bridge) held at the clubhouse in Red Wing over the 24 years she lived in that community. Many good friendships were made and dinner parties were held so that she could share her love of cooking.
Liz was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred in 1996, her daughters, Sigrid in 2016, and Patti in 2020. She is survived by her son, Timothy, and daughters Susan (Gary), and Michele (Roy) as well as grandchildren Andrea, Joe, Ken, Jennifer, Justin, Kaylee, Tristen and Jessie as well as great grandchildren Angel, Brooklyn, Olivia, Warren, Logan, Nova and Cooper.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Everden Rust, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton)
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Liz’s name to Penticton & District Hospice Society.
