Bert was born in Gerwen, Netherlands on October 25, 1940 and was the son of the late Anton and Hendrika (nee Lamers) Versteegen. As he built a life in Canada, Bert learned the value and importance of hard work and perseverance, values he instilled in his children and grandchildren. Bert loved many things, especially working with his hands and in his shop building things, being outside and taking care of his property, travelling and being at the table with his coffee surrounded by his family. Bert loved his road trips which usually involved an ice cream or two. We will always love you forever to the moon and back. See you on our next road trip.
