Obituary of Bert Quinn
NEW GLASGOW – Burton Spencer “Bert” Quinn, 81, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 5, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Chester Fulton and Annie Elizabeth (Turner) Quinn. In earlier years, Bert had been employed with several grocers. Following, he was a spray painter with Pictou Industries for many years. After retirement, he became a used car salesman, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. Bert spent many enjoyable hours sitting at the kitchen table listening and watching the antics of the “golden girls”. He looked forward to the yearly Florida trips with his family and the sound of Classic Country in the background. Bert was a proud “Grampie” and was happiest when surrounded by his “little ones”. He will be dearly missed by those he loved.
Surviving are his wife, Gerry; daughters, Carla Quinn (Robert Fredericks), New Glasgow; Lori Kunkle, Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Graham, Gregory, Kyla, Angela, Greyson and Hudson; great-grandchildren, Madison, Kendyl and Benjamin; sisters, Nancy (George) MacFarlane, Debbie (Basil) Keeler and Carol MacLean; brothers, Curt (Linda), Melvin and Ron (Joy); sisters-in-law, Carol Quinn and Krista Quinn; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Wade; sister, Beatrice in infancy; brothers, Art and Lloyd; brother-in-law, Donald MacLean.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m Thursday, June 9 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday June 10 in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor. Interment will be in Auburn Cemetery, Westville.
Donations may be made in Bert’s memory to St. Paul United Church, Westville.
