It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Daniels on November 29th, 2022 at his home in Cornwall at the age of 77 years. He is predeceased by his parents; George Daniels and Isabelle Daniels (nee Kennedy). He is predeceased by his brothers; Ambrose Daniels and James Alexander Daniels and by his sister; Olive Martel. He will be dearly missed by his nephews, niece, friends and everyone he met. Bernie was well known for his outgoing personality and his selflessness. Bernie was a proud member of his community offering years of food basket deliveries, volunteering as a Big Brother, delivering meals to the seniors, transporting those in need to medical appointments, and a committed member of his church. The seat at the local coffee shop surrounded by friends will be missing someone special. As per Bernie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888) for Family and Close Friends on Friday Dec 9th, 2022 at 11 a.m. interment to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Apple Hill, ON. Dear Daniels Family,
I want to on behalf of the entire parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Church commiserate with your entire family on the passing of Bernie to eternal glory. May God console and comfort you.
Bernie was well known to me. His death was a big shock to all of us because he was at Mass on Saturday night with us and gave me his usual knuckle. He attended morning Mass on Monday and on Tuesday we got the news that he had passed unto glory to eternal life. This is our faith and it is the faith we professed together with Bernie.
I have had the privilege of going over to Bernie’s home for coffee and visit. Bernie as much as I can remember hardly misses his daily and weekend Masses. He attended morning Masses everyday at Blessed Sacrament until our Mass time changed from 8am to 9am and he attended most times at St. Francis. He was at Mass every Saturday night at our parish and is well known and liked by parishioners. He was always readily available to help in anyway whatsoever at the Church and other parish activities.
Bernie will surely be missed and we know that someday all of us will meet him again in God’s Kingdom. May the soul of Bernard Daniels and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen!
