BERGERON Lori Lee Ann 2022

BERGERON, Lori Lee Ann
September 11, 1965 – June 17, 2022
On Friday, June 17, 2022 in Cochrane, Alberta, Lori Bergeron peacefully passed away surrounded by family after living with metastatic breast cancer for a number of years.
Lori was born to Frank and Pearl LaPlante (Weir) in the fall of 1965 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Lori spent many happy times at the family farm near San Clara, MB, and at her grandparents’ home in Roblin, MB. Her childhood was filled with fun times with friends and family and she participated in many activities including sports and recreation.
In 1987, Lori graduated from the St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing and then worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After 4 years of working as a registered nurse, she decided it was time explore more of the world through travel nursing. Just prior to leaving Canada, Lori began a relationship with her future husband, Paul Bergeron. They married in Toronto in 1993 and continued to live in Florida where their daughter Arielle was born. From there, after a brief stint in Texas, they returned to Canada where their son Raymond was born.
Lori enjoyed working as an NICU and Operating Room nurse at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB. She volunteered with community sports organizations in Cochrane, AB, while she and Paul raised their children and operated Mountain View Helicopters, first with partner Richard Alzetta by their side and later with Curtis & Ashleigh Nadon.
Lori is survived by her husband of 28 years Paul, daughter Arielle, and son Raymond; siblings, their spouses and children Garth LaPlante (Elizabeth, Nicholas, Alexa & Elenna); Evelyn LaPlante (Juan); Grant LaPlante (Beverly and Sarah); brothers-in-law Glen Bergeron (Valerie, Erin & Bryan); Ken Bergeron (David & Tammy); mother-in-law Florence Bergeron; step-mother Bernice LaPlante; and numerous cousins. She was predeceased in death by her parents Frank and Pearl LaPlante; father-in-law Lucien Bergeron; grandparents, and several uncles and aunts.
During the last few years Lori appreciated the quality time she was able to spend relaxing with family and friends at the lake in Manitoba, in California, in Mexico, and around the Cochrane area. The forest and the lake were her happy places. She felt grounded and at peace when among the trees or near the water.
Share your stories of remembrance at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Cochrane RancheHouse (located at 101 RancheHouse Road). As always, dress code is casual (you might want to go for a walk).

  1. Dear Paul,Arielle,and Raymond &family

We are so sorry to hear of Lori’s passing. She was a sweet gentle soul. When our daughter Crystal was born in August 1987, it was much comfort to us to knowing our friend Lori, who just happened to be working in the neonatal care at St.Boniface hospital would be caring for our precious little one. Words could not express our gratitude to Lori during that very challenging time. Little did we know then that Lori and our life long friend Paul would date there after and eventually get married. How blessed you two were to find each other and create your own beautiful family. Sending you our love and heart felt sympathies to you at this very difficult time
Margaret Cabel and Brian Beyak and family
