It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Benjamin Stephen Savage. Ben is now with his Saviour Jesus, at peace and fully alive in Heaven. Benjamin was born on November 24th, 1988 at Grace Hospital in
Windsor, Ontario and is survived by his loving parents John and Margaret Savage (nee Porter). Ben was the lively, fun loving older brother to Jonathan (Sarah) and Nathan Savage. He is predeceased by loving grandparents George and Dorothy Savage and William Porter. He is survived by his devoted Grandmother, Mary Porter. Benjamin was celebrated and loved by his Aunts and Uncles Ruth & John Miller, David & Margaret Smyth, Stephen and Kelly Savage, Beth and Peter Mingay and Don and Jillian Turner. He will be sorely missed by his many cousins and friends who depended on his wit and humour to bring life to any gathering.
Ben’s life was filled with adventure and connection. He loved and was loved well by many in his workplace, church, school and sports community. He was loved well by his best friend Miranda Hope. He had a soft spot for his beloved poodles and cats and just about any animal that crossed his path. Benjamin attended Arrowsmith School in Toronto where he was a proud graduate. He enjoyed travelling and had the ability to make friends wherever he went. Always the entertainer, Ben spent time acting as the mascot “Vinnie the Viper” for the LaSalle Vipers, as “Ace” for the Windsor Spitfires, and as “Bucky the Beaver” for The Lakeshore Canadiens.
Ben could be counted upon to follow through and keep his word. His passing leaves a hole in many lives. We rejoice that he is at peace and know we will see him again in eternity.
The family kindly requests that in In lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Brain Injury Association of Windsor, or The Windsor Humane Society.
