Obituary of Beatrice MacBeth MacDonald
We wish to announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Beatrice MacDonald of Hopewell at the Maritime Oddfellow’s Home in Pictou on April 11th 2022 in her 101st year. She was born in Springville NS on January 13, 1922 to Gilbert and Lila (Swinamer) MacBeth.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Roy H. MacDonald, her brother Murray MacBeth and sister-in-law Nancy MacBeth Barker. Survived by her children: Lorna (Dave) Shaw, Ellen (Bill) Higgins and Duncan (Faye) MacDonald, Grandma B to grandchildren: Justin Shaw, Jolene Shaw, Nathan Higgins, Joel Higgins, Colleen Linthorne and Matthew MacDonald and blessed with 10 greatgrandchildren.
She was a Member of First Presbyterian Church Hopewell where she served as Treasurer for over 40 years, Silver Light Rebecca Lodge, Hopewell and a volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society.
Mom enjoyed the beach, her many travels and was always ready for an adventure.
We would like to recognize the staff at Maritime Oddfellow’s Home for their compassionate care over the past 11 years and to thank those who were so very kind to her.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday April 14, 2022 from First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell with Rev. Bonnie Langille presiding.
