Beatrice Wheeler Friday February 4th 2022

Betty (Beatrice) Wheeler, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto. She was born July 14, 1929 in Calgary to Harold and Lauretta (Nicholson) Watson. She was the eldest and had two brothers, Bob and Tom. After graduating high school, she worked for Zellers and very soon was manager of the children’s department. Betty met Donald Wheeler, the love of her life, and they were married June 27th 1950, at the age of 21. Together, they had 4 daughters. Betty loved being an at home mom. She had a knack of making everything special from cookie paper dolls to Barbie doll princess cakes for birthdays, to sewing beautiful clothes for her girls and elegant dinner parties for her friends. In retirement she and Donald moved to P.E.I. where they renovated a Century Home and started an artisan craft business.
She is survived by her daughters Linda (Mason) Grant, Lyanne (Bill) Slavin, Charlene (John) Bennett, Debbie (John) Malcolm, her brother Tom E. Watson, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. The information will be posted on the “Book of Memories” with Ward Funeral Home.
