Lillian, age 95, Heatherton, passed away in St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital on December 6,
2022.
Born in 1927
in Pomquet, Beatrice, affectionately known as Grammie B and Queen B by
family and friends, was the backbone and matriarch of the
family. She enjoyed life to the fullest and could find humor
in every situation she encountered. She will be remembered
as a wonderful role model as well as a loving mother and grandmother.
She made friends easily and enjoyed spending time with her many
friends in Club 60. She loved planting flowers, baking and
her ‘kiddie kats”. Beatrice worked in service
at St. Martha’s Hospital for over twenty years and served
several priests in Heatherton parish.
Beatrice will
be greatly missed by her five grandchildren: Michele Dort and Jimmy
Dort, Edmonton; Charlie MacEachern, Mt. Uniacke; Ian Wallace, Cold
Lake, AB; Kenny, Alberta; sisters: Priscilla McGraw, Boston; Yvonne
Guidice, Arizona; many great grandchildren; three great
great grandchildren and her good friends Gail and Al Marsh who
provided Beatrice with wonderful care in her last
years.
She was
predeceased by her husband, John and daughter, Mary Joyce Chisholm
Dort.
Visitation
will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on
Saturday, December 10th from 7 to 9 pm and
Sunday, December 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
pm. Funeral Mass will be held in Immaculate Conception
Church on Monday at 11:00 am with Reverend Dennis Lamey presiding.
Burial in the parish cemetery.
Donations in
memory may be made to Antigonish Palliative Care Society.
