Beatrice Hiltz * Updated* 1934 2021

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of
Beatrice Marion Hiltz on October 10, 2021 at Charlotte County Hospital
at the age of 87 after a courageous five-year fight with
cancer.
Born August 16th 1934, Bea (to those
who knew her) was the only child of Gertrude Steward of Rollingdam,
NB. She is predeceased by her mother, her stepfather Cecil
Stewart, and recently by her husband of 67 years, Donald
Hiltz.
Growing up in Pleasant Ridge with her mother, the family
later moved to Milltown to be closer to work and High
School. Bea graduated in 1952 and soon met her future
husband Don, with marriage following one year later. She
began a career at Ganong’s office, but like many women of
the era, left the workforce to raise her family. She
returned to work at the school cafeteria and then the Metropolitan
store café until her retirement in 1994. She
enjoyed gardening, vacations and camping, and her true passion
BINGO! Bea was happiest spending time at the cottage in Oak
Bay with family, often in front of the fireplace with her beloved
Don.
Bea is survived by her three children Donna (Claude
Bastarache) of Saint-Maurice NB, Sharon (Frank McCallum) of Beaver
Harbour NB, and David (Dawn-Marie) of Dartmouth NS. She will
also be missed by her grandchildren: Tina, Ian and Ainsley,
great-grandchildren: Gary and Kalista and great-great grandchildren:
Bellamy and Nevaeh.
A graveside service will be held at
the Rolling Dam Cemetery, Rolling Dam, N.B. on Saturday, August 27,
2022 at 2 PM.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke or Charlotte County Cancer
Society would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be sent to
