Passed peacefully away on February 25, 2022, at the Health Sciences Center surrounded by her loving family, Beatrice Maria Hawkins ( née Carey), aged 93 years. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary; husband Robert; children: Brendan, Eric, Phyllis; sisters: Mary, Christina, Anna; brothers: Victor, John, Cyril, Jerome; special friend and longtime neighbour Sarah.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is her brother Thomas; children: Donald, Cyril, Mary, Eugene, Josephine (Barry) Richard, Ellen (Dave), Rosalie (Chris), Brenda (Keith), Paul, Doreen (Todd); Grandchildren: Jill (Keith), Brad (Leah), Jason (Sarah), Vanessa (Jason), Leanne (Trevor), Megan (Lee), Ashley (David), Sara (Jordan), Adam (Shannon), Jenna, Eric, Joshua, Travis, Erica, Lucas, Justin; Great-Grandchildren: Isla, Arden, Alexa, Emilia, Olivia, Havanna, along with nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends.
Beatrice was a very kind and loving woman with a great sense of humor. She lived in the beautiful community of Admirals Cove. She spent many hours cooking in her kitchen, where all of her family would gather to enjoy her Sunday dinners. She was an avid reader and loved her scratch tickets. We are left with wonderful memories, especially Christmas. It just wasn’t Christmas until we were altogether to celebrate with music, laughter and good company. She meant so much to so many and will be dearly missed.
Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Visitation Monday, February 28, from 2-9 p.m. Funeral to take place Tuesday, March 1 at 11 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Church, Cape Broyle. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape Cemetery, Cape Broyle.
