It is with profound sadness that the family of Beatrice “Bea” Smith (nee Beaudry) announce her peaceful passing on April 15, 2022, at the age of 86 years, at the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband and soulmate of 65 years, Gordon “Pepper” Smith, and son Michael “Pepper” Smith (Shelley) of Garson. Sadly, predeceased by daughter Shelley Ann Welbourne in 2005 and infant son Jeffery John in 1963.
Grandchildren Courtney (Nathan) of Sudbury, Spenser (Brittany) of Garson, Jorrey (Shayne) of Val Caron will miss their fun-loving Nana. She will be missed by great grandchildren Harrison, Edison and Everly. It pained Bea that she would miss the birth of her last great grandchild Marcus who is expected to arrive in July. Sadly, predeceased by her first great grandchild infant grandson Greyson in 2015.
Bea will be missed by her dog companion Parker who she enjoyed tremendously.
Bea was the daughter of the late Edgar and Evelyn Beaudry of Sudbury. She is survived by her siblings Fred (Taina) Beaudry of Sudbury, Suzanne (Gunter) Hertz of Hamilton, Danny (Joele) Beaudry of North Bay. Predeceased by Tom (Joy) Beaudry of Sudbury, Noreen (Don) Frattini of St Catherine’s. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Bea was an active member of St. John’s the Evangelist Church in Garson for 55 years where she played the organ. She was a frequent bowler at Garson bowl and, in her later years, was an active member of the Nickle Centre Seniors Club.
Bea genuinely loved life to the fullest. She was happy, carefree, and took any opportunity to crack a good joke and laugh.
With a big heart, Bea was grateful for the simple things in life, putting herself second to family and friends.
In her last few months, Bea embraced her fate and reverence for her marriage, life, family, and friends. She will be forever missed and loved.
Respecting Bea’s wishes, arrangements have been entrusted with Park Lawn in Sudbury where cremation has taken place. At Bea’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Donations can be made to the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Bea’s memory.
A gathering will take place at St. Johns Cemetery in Garson on June 11, 2022 at 1:00pm followed by a celebration of life at the Nickel Centre Seniors Club in Falconbridge where family and friends can attend.
