Obituary of Bart Hencie Hiltz
Our hearts are broken. It is with profound sadness that the family of Bart Hencie Hiltz, 61, annouce his passing on August 10, 2022 in Lohnes Retirement Home, Scarsdale, NS. Bart was born on June 8, 1961 in Bridgewater and spent his life in the Forties, New Ross. He was the son of the late Hencie and Ethel “Dollie” (Russell) Hiltz.
Bart loved the farm, having acquired his meat cutting training from Kings Tech Vocational School. He cut meat for many customers in the Forties and beyond. He appreciated his wood stove and a big turkey dinner with lots of mashed potatoes and his family around the table.
He is survived by his older brother, Cyril Hiltz (Kathy Russell) of the Forties; sister, Leila (Jeffrey) Richards of Florida, USA; nephew, Jay (Shawna) Hiltz of the Forties; niece, Amanda (Hiltz) (Chris) Gwynne-Timothy of Chester; Joshua Richards of Conneticut; Jonathan Richards of Florida; as well as much loved great niece, Corinne Hiltz; and great nephews Owen and Trevor Gwynne-Timothy.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held graveside on October 8, 2022 at 11:00 am where Bart will be laid to rest in the St. Augustine of Hippo Anglican Cemetery, Forties. A reception will follow in the New Ross Fair Grounds. Memorial donations may be made to the St Augustine of Hippo Anglican Church, Forties. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
