Obituary of Barrie Thomas Brewer
It is with a deep hole in my heart that on November 28, 2022, the love of my life and husband of 54 years, Barrie Thomas Brewer died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Barrie was the most loving, kind and gentle husband to me, Margie, father to Daniel and Michelle, granddad to Mackenzie, Jayden and Autym and to the many family and friends who had the good fortune of knowing him throughout his life. He was the only son of the late Tom and Lillian (Bartlett) Brewer of Halifax, N.S. Though an only child himself, he was welcomed and warmly cherished by my siblings Blaise, Frank, Jerri, Nora, Florence and the late Roddie and Barb, as well as their spouses and children.
Barrie was a manager for Livingston International offices in Toronto, Halifax, and finally Saint John where we settled in 1988. A man who practiced his faith, he dedicated himself and dearly enjoyed volunteering his time in his parish and with other community organizations throughout his life. He cherished the friendship of the Old Boys Club, of which he was a member.
Barrie was a quiet man with a great sense of humour and wit. He was an avid Toronto Argonauts fan who fittingly sent him off from this life with a Grey Cup win and brought him immense happiness in his last days. He enjoyed doing puzzles, especially with Michelle, as well as reading, music, card games and his boating days on the ocean.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road in Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 6-9 PM. The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rothesay on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
