DRAŠKOVIĆ, Barbara “Barka” (nee Korenić)
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loving Mama, Baba and Pra-Baba, on April 16, 2022 at her home, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving children. Reunited with her beloved husband Ivan Draskovic (1991). Loving mama to Joe Draskovic and wife Marija, Marica Olujic and husband Ivica and Ankica Marelic and husband Darko. Cherished baba to Nancy Dosen (Gord), Tanya Ferri (John), Johnny Draskovic, David Olujic (Julie), Michael Marelic (Chelsea), Daniela Marelic (Adrian) and Kristie Horton (Josh). Beloved great grandmother to Madeline, Daniela and Nathaniel Dosen, Gianni and Alessia Ferri, Jessie and Adriana Olujic, Isla and Maleah Marelic, Madeline Lotfi and baby Zara Horton arriving September 2022. Dear sister to the late Ana Biscan and husband Alojz and the late Josip Korenic and surviving wife Danica. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and family in Canada and Croatia. Barbara was a faithful and devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church and a member of Kršćanska Žena. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Laura Voltic and PSW, Spomenka for their exceptional and compassionate care provided to Mama for many years. Although our hearts are broken that she is no longer with us in person, her love and our memories will last a lifetime.
A private family Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held in Mama’s honour at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund (1701 Turner Rd., Windsor, ON N8W 3J9) or Downtown Mission (664 Victoria Ave, Windsor, ON N9A 4N2).
