Barbara Rose Jacquard Wednesday May 11th 2022

Barbara Jacquard
I was born January 15,1960 and lived in Comeau’s Hill. I was the 2nd of 6 children.
Thought of being a nun but knew I didn’t do “Obey” very well, looked into Archaeology but hated dirt, considered bilingual secretary but truly disliked French grammar. My Aunt Evelyn gave me a Harlequin Romance about doctors and nurses, my future was sealed. My mother thought me crazy as I was terrified of talking to strangers. Found my tongue and never looked back.
I was a lifelong student, and as I never married and my only child died, education and work were the path I took.
I went and received by CCNP to work in ICU and my BScN from remote learning from St. FX University, followed by certificates in Community Care, Gerontology and Palliative Care. During this time, I worked in Med/ Surg, ICU, Float Team, Supervisor, Dialysis and ended at the Villa St. Joseph du Lac.
I lived and worked in Halifax and Yarmouth and did a short term of travel nursing in Altamonte, Florida and Cherry Parke Marilyn, USA.
I lived the last 28 years with my sister Donna and her husband Darren and my nephew / God child, Christian. Anyone who knew me realized I loved to read and watch movies. Irene Cronin and Sue Eldridge were my movie buddies. I was predeceased by my parents, Emily (Fitzgerald) and George T. Jacquard; my daughter, Dominique; sister-in-law Debbie; great nephew, Andrew and good friend Frank Cronin.
Survived by my siblings, Danny (Charlotte); Michael (Sandra); Donna (Darren); Kevin; Henry (Kim); nieces, Jennifer; Alicia; Shawna; nephews, Jeremie; Tim; Christian; Lou; Bernie; Adam, and several great nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to dear friends, Laurie and Darren Williams; Irene; Sue; Kathy W; Anne; Jerry; Mary Lou (Landry) IP, all the nurses in Oncology and my family doctor, Allison Cottreau.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 13,2022 at 1 pm in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. Reception in Jacob’s Loft following the service.
