Barbara Lois Barbie Boake 2022

Obituary for
Barbara Lois “Barbie” Boake
My dear mother, Barbara Lois Boake, was born in Spirit River on March 8, 1963. She peacefully passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 59 years.
She was the youngest of seven children, born to Marcella Marie Sinclair and Bartholomew James Boake.
Barbie is survived by her husband, Roland; daughter, Loreana; four grandchildren, (whom she loved more than life) Lucus, Shaden, Caralinda and Caleb; brother, Jerry; and sisters, Patty and Gayla.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael; parents, Marcella and Bartholomew; sister, Chris; and brothers, Jimmy and Cecil.
There are many incredible things that could be said about Barbie; but most predominantly, she radiated kindness and was the most empathetic person I will ever be blessed to have known. She had a way of trusting and caring for others that was not only beautiful, but inspiring. She taught my brother and I, from as early as I can remember, what it means to have true compassion, and care for the less fortunate and lost individuals. My mother never had much in life but what she did have, she shared. She cared if people were cold or hungry or in need and did what she could to help.
To honour my mother, in lieu of flowers, I ask that you do something kind. Something generous and unexpected. It can be a kind word (my mother had plenty of those), a cup of coffee on a cold day, or even just lend an ear. Kindness and compassion are my mother’s legacy. We are so fortunate to have learned from her. The world needs more people like my mom.
Love you more, mom.
