Obituary
Hachey, Barbara – It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Barbara Joan Hachey, loving wife of the late John Anthony Hachey, at home surrounded by her loving family on July 19 th , 2022. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Lenihan) MacKenzie. Barbara is survived by her children: Wayne (Connie); John (Amanda); Mike (Jennifer); Janet (Mackie) all of Saint John; and Ann Marie (Terry) of Rothesay; 12 grandchildren: Marianne, Tammy, Scott, Shawn, Adam, Christopher, Emma, Jackson, Matthew, Sara, Megan, and Ashley; 12 great grandchildren: Riley, Bradley, Ryan, Ruthie, Makayla, Robyn, Lindsey, Malcolm, Bennett, Eden, Graham, and Aubrey; she also had a special grand fur baby named Lily who she adored. Besides her husband and parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brothers; Ernie, Billy, Raymond, Charlie and as well as her sister Olive. She was the last remaining sibling. Barbara worked at the LBR for nearly 30 years running the canteen and when you couldn’t find her there, she was at another rink watching her grandsons play hockey. She also never missed a baseball game. Her most cherished times were spent with her family with lots of love, laughter, and stories. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John. Visitation will be held on Friday July 22 from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Saturday July 23 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
