Reid, Barbara Jean (nee Moseley-Williams)
Born March 10th, 1923 in New Liskeard Ontario in her 100th year. Predeceased by her husband Walter Reid (1985), parents Mabel and Thurston Moseley-Williams, brothers Walter Moseley-Williams, Derry Moseley-Williams (Stella), Ted Moseley-Williams (Helen), Gerald Moseley-Williams (Betty), sister Mary Barrett (Jim) and son David Charles.
Survived by her sister Elizabeth Wiegerinck of Comox, BC. Loving mother of Phil (Janet), Alan (Jean), Jeff (Jo-Anne) and Kirk (Ali) and mother-in-law of Geraldine Reid (David) all of North Bay. Beloved grandmother of Kevin Reid (Mirela) of Toronto, Andrea Matus (Mike) of Barrie, Bill Reid (Debbie) of North Bay, Stephanie Reid (Lou Labrash) of Nanton Alta, Jason Reid (Michelle) of Okotoks Alta, Christina Reid (Neil) of Spruce Grove Alta, Christopher Reid, Michael Reid (Kristin), Jon Reid (Jena), Patricia Chabbert (Steve) all of North Bay, Martin Savard of Toronto and Jarett Reid of North Bay.
Barbara was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish. After raising her 5 sons, she became involved with the YMCA as a swimming instructor where she was able to share her amazing aquatic skill with the students of Canadore College. In retirement, Barbara enjoyed golfing, cross-country skiing and camping at Seguin’s Campground, she was a member with the Interlink Choir and shared those skills with children. Mom always had a positive outlook, would never sweat the small stuff that came her way and for this she will surely be missed.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Waters Edge Care Community for the incredible care that was given to mom. They are truly a caring group of people.
A visitation and service will be held in early spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre in memory of Barbara will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
