It is with sad and heavy
heart’s that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean
MacDonald which occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, August
16, 2022. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George
and Hilda (Oram) Haynes.
Barbara is survived by her sister,
Lynne Walker of Hamilton, ON; stepdaughter, Susan Gillis (Jack) of
Fredericton; 4 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; Barb
also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband, David MacDonald; sisters, Anne
“Betty” Scott, Carole Dykens and Sharon McGuigan; as well as
brothers, Charles, Harry and Robert Haynes.
Barbara had a beautiful religious soul
and was content in her association with God. More than anything, she
was a fantastic singer and loved to sing in Church to
everyone’s enjoyment. Barb had a personality that was
soothing and calming to everyone around her.
She was employed in secretarial
positions for numerous years with Moncton T.B. Hospital, Shell Oil
Co., and then with the T. Eaton Co. She retired from the Department of
Regional Economic Expansion (DREE).
Barb was a member of the Moncton First
Church of the Nazarene, served as choir member, treasurer, secretary
and on the missionary society.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting,
music, travelling, the TV show MASH, doing puzzles and associating
with family and friends.
A Service to Celebrate and Honour
Barb’s Life will be held from Moncton First Church of the
Nazarene (21 Fieldcrest Drive) on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 am.
Visitation will take place at the Church one hour prior. Interment
will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.
