HIEDMAN, Barbara (nee: West) – Passed away peacefully and with dignity surrounded by her devoted family on Friday, May 20, 2022 in her 90th year. Beloved wife for 66 years of the late Kenneth(2017). Cherished mother of Marguerite Christian, Ralph Hiedman, Cindy Golden (Wayne), Terri Lynne Purdy and Hope Gauthier. Sadly missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered as a second mom to Cindy and Kevin Raymond and their family. Dear sister of Bill West, Judy Toto, Mayadele Wilmont, Harry (Barb) West, Marcia Braun and sisters in law Marion and Gwen. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Marguerite West, her brothers Eric, Jan and Blake, sister in law Marg and brother in law Skip. Barbara was a member and leader of Girl Guides, a very active member in the Salvation Army for many years and a volunteer of Open Arms Mission. The family extend a hearfelt thank you to the nursing staff of the 4th floor west of the Welland Hospital especially David, Kristy and Cassie for the gentle care and compassion shown to our mom.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Rice Road Community Church, 305 Rice Rd, Welland on Monday, May 30th, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Online condolences available at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com.
