Sheila passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Georgian Heights Long Term Care Centre in Owen Sound at the age of 93.
Born in England on July 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Nelly Greenwood.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Eric Bailey (1924 – 2004).
Sheila was the much-loved mother of Janet (Scott) Aitken of Meaford and was predeceased by her daughter Lynne McAllister (1951-2022) and son Trevor Bailey (1953-1995). She will be remembered fondly by her son-in-law Tom McAllister. She was the proud grandmother of Sheila (Mike) Lavigne and Michael (Ruth-Ann) Bachelder, and great grandmother of Daniel, Richard and Ericia.
Sheila is from a large family of 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Vivian Webster in the U.K., and is predeceased by her brothers Samuel, Peter, Harry, Charlie, David, Fred and Roger Greenwood and sisters Audrey Armsby, Doreen Hayes, and Pamela Butow.
Sheila worked for many years at Sterling Drugs in Aurora. She and Eric enjoyed the company of their many friends including Lydia, Morris and Florence during their winter stays in Florida. A special thank you to longtime friends Cor Iiohan, Eileen Rogers, June Adamson, Marg Zweep and Maria Kadlcek.
Cremation has taken place and a private service of interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery just north of Bradford at a later date.
