Avery Victor Joseph Dunne
Sydney Mines
We regretfully announce the sudden passing of Avery Victor Joseph Dunne, 19, on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in North Sydney on August 15 2002, he is survived by his loving parents, Mary (Joe) and Shain (Jennifer), loving sister Jenna, the lights of his life, his nephew Jacob and niece Lacey, Avery also leaves behind his ever-loving grandparents Mary and Charlie Stewart, Donna Dunne and Joe Gerrow.
Avery was a 2020 welding graduate of Memorial High School and was an employee of Island Tire Ltd, Sydney. Avery was an old soul with a true passion for the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, dirt biking and going on the 4-wheeler and he could fix anything his hands touched. He had a love for animals especially for his dog Abby.
Avery could often be found enjoying time with Great Uncle Mike. They would spend time chatting about life or heavy junk. He was gentle and humble with a kind heart. Those who knew Avery, just even a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
He will be sadly missed by his uncles Blaise Young, Glen McGean (Natalie), Will Young (Carley), his aunt Danielle Drummond (Mitch) and his special aunt Angela Gerrow, cousins Joel & Brooke Young, Hudson Mcgean, Joey MacDonald, Georgia and Gemma.
In addition to his family, who loved him dearly, he will be greatly missed by his good friends Mike Russell, Ryan Woods and Thomas Gardner. Avery always had a special place in his heart for Mackayla and the Devoe Family. He will also be fondly remembered by extended family and cousins, the Lundrigan family and the Dunne family in Newfoundland.
He was predeceased by his great-grandparents Viola & Eldridge Reynolds, Wilson Dunne, Victor Baker, Mary and Wilson Sr Dunne and his best buddy Blair Harris.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at J.M Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 11 am in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
