Aurelia Berkovits
(née Horovitz)
Holocaust Concentration Camp Survivor
It is with great sadness that the family of Aurelia Berkovits announces her death on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in her ninety-sixth year. She truly was one of the better people to grace this earth, forever brave and always unselfish and giving to family and others whenever possible. A Holocaust concentration camp survivor who lived her life without a trace of bitterness, always forgiving. never complaining, always doing what is necessary with love. A loving wife and mother, Aurelia worked diligently alongside the love of her life of sixty-four years, Josif Berkovits. They enjoyed their many travels together along with their family get-togethers, including feasting on hand crafted eight-course meals made by her. Her kitchen prowess and skills were Michelin Star quality. She will be remembered with tremendous love and forever missed by her daughter and son-n-law, Lucy Berkovits and Raymond Grenon, her late son, Ivan Berkovits and daughter-n-law, Caroline Crevier, her grandson and his wife, Kevin Grenon and Kayla Mckelvey, and her lovely granddaughter, Naomi Berkovits. Ibi was the last of her four sisters, named after beautiful flowers, all beautiful souls, all Holocaust survivors. She will also be remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families. Sincere gratitude to Sara Sheck for her dedication in caring for Aurelia every Monday for years. The family would like to thank VIGI DDO, especially Davidson, Anne-Janine, Natacha, Manon, Caltide, Rodney, and many others for offering such great care and comfort. Private graveside service to take place with immediate family and by invitation only. Shiva strictly private.
