AURELE BERTHELETTE
It is deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Father, Papa, Brother and Uncle Aurèle Berthelette on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 77.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Carrie (nee Johnson) along with their four children – his son Randy (Margie) and daughters Lynn, Sheri (Mike) and Michelle. Papa will be missed greatly by his beloved grandchildren Jo-Dee, Michael-Tyler, Justin, Keianna, Zachary, Riley, Salem (Carrie), Xander-Ray and Faith and great-grandchildren Tayvian and Acelyn. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Hope.
Aurèle was born August 12, 1944 and raised in Aubigny, Manitoba in a large family of 14 siblings. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Ida Berthelette and his siblings Romeo, Therese, Armand, Adrienne, Flora, Marcelin, Marina and Richard. He leaves to mourn his remaining siblings Alice, Yvette, Evelyn, Claude and Paulette. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Dad worked most of his life as a Barber, starting his career at the Brunswick Hotel on Main Street and opening his own shop on Provencher Blvd called “Aurèle’s Hairstyling”. As a Barber he met tons of people and was a great listener. Everyone was his buddy.
Dad also loved to bring his family and friends boating on the Red River. He always enjoyed nature, whether it be camping at St. Malo or Gull Lake and they eventually bought property at St. Laurent. It was Dad’s favourite place to spend his summer days watching his family enjoy the outdoors together and making the property more beautiful.
In the winters, he and Mom loved to go to Mexico and soak in the sun. He would always have the best tan of all of us. Dad lived life to the fullest.
Due to covid restrictions, a small viewing was held prior to cremation as per his wishes. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in the Spring. Family and friends may sign an online book of condolences at ejcoutu.ca
