Passed away peacefully at Tall Pines Long Term Care Centre, Brampton on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Evelyn. Dear father of Edna (Ian) McNair. Cherished papa to Michelle (Mike), Jaclyn (Greg) and Christie (Andrew). He will be missed by his great-grandchildren Logan, Ethan, Jaime, Colby, Owen and Ruby. In Sydney, N.S., Gus is survived by his sisters, Sarah MacLean, Louise MacLennan, Marina Anderson, Virginia Chdzenko and Myrtle (Allan) Matheson. Gus is predeceased by his sister Alta and brothers George and Eoin. Gus loved sports he was active in baseball and hockey in his youth. He loved skeet shooting and could always be found at the range. His sparkling blue eyes and his smile will be missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Tall Pines Long Term Care for all care and support shown to Gus.
A Private Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A tree will be planted in memory of Gus in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
