Obituary of Audrey May Newcombe
NEWCOMBE, Audrey May Surrounded by the love of her family, Audrey entered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, on Sunday, January 2, 2022, in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Carman (2016). Blessed to be born to Godly parents, William and Louise Sears, who instilled a love of God. Exceptional mother of Deborah Valliant (Lew), Rodney Newcombe (Janice), Elsbeth Newcombe and Mark Newcombe (Carolyn). Loving grandmother of David, Esther, Rodney (Jess), Chelsea (Matt) and Paul (Julia) and great-grandmother to Taya, Chelsea and Matt’s newborn daughter. Survived by her brother Eldon Sears (Joy) and sister-in-law, Joyce Sears and predeceased by brothers and sisters Velma (Alf), Elda (Glen), June (Gordon), and Earl. Also survived by Carman’s sibling Vivian and predeceased by Carman’s siblings Eileen, Albert and Elmer. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and their families, as well as her spiritual family at Bethel Church where she was active serving in various leadership roles for over 80 years. Audrey was well known for her deep faith, her positive attitude and outlook on life and for welcoming company into her home. Throughout her life and even until the end, she greeted everyone with her radiant and contagious smile. She left us all with positive, pleasant and fragrant memories of our times and conversations with her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 2:30 pm, with a reception in the Celebration Centre to follow. Guests who are not able to attend the ceremony in person are invited to watch a livestreaming of the service by clicking HERE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp IAWAH or Bethel Church.
