Obituary of Audrey May Bashutski
Audrey May Bashutski (née Norlander) was born in Regina, SK on June 16, 1943 to Lilly (née Roset) & Gus Norlander. Audrey passed peacefully after a brave battle with cancer on Monday, August 8, 2022 with her family by her side.
Audrey leaves to be remembered by her loving family, husband of 53 years, Al; son, Jeff (Kaitlin) Bashutski; daughter Lori Bashutski; grandchildren, Emmanuel, Jasper & Stella; brother Gerry Norlander; sister Arleen (Dennis) Galandy; as well as cherished nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Lilly & Gus Norlander; daughter Lisa; & granddaughter Willow.
After completing high school at Martin, Audrey attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in California & Camrose. She went on to complete her teaching degree at Brandon University, where she met the love of her life & husband, Al Bashutski. They were married on July 26, 1969, as the first man landed on the moon. Both having achieved their teaching degrees, they taught in Anama Bay, Cromer & Cartwright, Manitoba. After settling in Regina, Audrey was busy with raising Jeff, Lisa & Lori.
Audrey spent most of her career as a Designer & supporting their family business, Crawford Homes. She loved decorating the showhomes, sometimes as many as 19 in a year.
Audrey was classy, organized, meticulous & a great listener. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends, & never forgot a birthday. Her children & grandchildren were the lights of her life & she would often ‘jot down’ notes of endearing comments or life events.
Audrey had an adventurous spirit & loved walks around Wascana Lake, visits to the cabin at Glen Harbour, the Craven Jamboree, the Casino Regina Show Lounge & family gatherings at the Royal Regina Golf Club. In the last decade & a half spending the coldest winter months at their home in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Audrey loved being by the pool, hiking the San Tan Mountains, a drink at San Tan Flat, a relaxing foot spa & concerts in Laughlin & Vegas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Royal Regina Golf Club, 5401 11th Avenue West, Regina, Saskatchewan. For those unable to attend, a livestream may be viewed at youtu.be/Ic-drBQ-kW8.
