Audrey Sanderson (Nee: Whitehead) was born to Josiah and Doris Whitehead on May 16, 1952 at Carrot River Hospital. She was united in Marriage to David Sanderson from James Smith on August 15, 1972.
Audrey received her education in Red Earth. She attended the residential school for a couple of months.
Audrey was always an individual who would work hard on getting things done. Audrey was employed as Janitor and Librarian at the Red Earth Elementary School. Audrey was one of the elders who wasn’t afraid to speak up at any meetings that she attended. She loved to tell stories to her family, enjoyed outdoors, preparing wild meat and family camps. Her favorite past time was reading novels and Bible, setting puzzles and watching western and new family movies. She would phone her siblings, children and friends to check up on how they were doing. Audrey enjoyed making family holiday dinners. She also had many young friends who enjoyed coming to her house. She would pray for herself whenever she had any concerns about her health. She knew to call upon the name of the Lord if she had nightmares or pray for her children and grandchildren.
She welcomed her nephews & grandchildren to come live with her: Ashton (Maryleigh) Whitehead, Antonio Head, Cassidy Whitehead and Osler Whitehead and her caregiver Delsey Daniels.
Audrey leaves to treasure her memories: her loving Children: Sterling (Verna) Sanderson, Stephanie (Keith) Head, and Lorraine (Kenneth) Head, Christine (Zachary), Laura (Gary) McKay, Lana (Dwayne) McKay, Melissa (Eugene) Young, Judy (Clayton) Head, Marvella Whitehead, Charlene (Elton) Head; Brothers: Leonard (Ina) Whitehead, Gregory (Wendy) Whitehead; Sister: Terrylynn (Alex) Head; Aunties: Arabella Nawakayas, MaryAnn Nawakayas; Brother in Law: Larry (Janet) Head; Sisters in Law: Della Whitehead, Bernadette Whitehead, Blanche Sanderson, Margaret Daniels, Daughter in Law: Brenna Whitehead; In Laws: Harry (Dora) Young.
