With great sadness, we announce the passing of Audrey on December 7, 2022, at age 92.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Lori (Blaine Mytruk), Sandy, and Colleen; greatly loved grandchildren, Gina, Alex, Matthew, Kate, Clare, and Candice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Elmer; parents John and Margaret Zwack; and siblings, Orville (Virgie), Marge (Ray) Senn, and Shirley (Orest) Wasiuta.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a kind and devoted friend to many. Family and friends will remember fondly the numerous dinner parties and gatherings she and Elmer hosted. Audrey loved Christmas and always made sure it was special for her loved ones. Audrey grew up in Daysland, AB, and later moved to Edmonton where she worked for ECSD for almost 20 years as a school secretary. She served the St. Rose School Community for most of that time where she made lifelong friends with staff, students, and families. Upon retirement, Audrey volunteered for many organizations. One of her greatest passions was the establishment of the Caring Ministry at St. John the Evangelist Parish, which she led for nearly 30 years. Audrey and Elmer traveled extensively to over 60 countries, enjoyed RV’ing from Alaska to Arizona, and family fun times at Sandy Lake. Her gracious humour was always present, right until her very last days. She will be greatly missed by all.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 9830-148 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pilgrims Hospice Society of Edmonton, www.pilgrimshospice.com.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Audrey May McDonough nee Zwack 2022 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
