PITTS, Audrey Marie, 80, of Tavistock and formerly of the Township of Perth East (North Easthope) passed away with family by her side on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at PeopleCare Tavistock.
She was born in Stratford on May 26, 1941, a daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Ackersviller) Baumbach.
Audrey had worked at the Sweater Factory, Dominion Chain and Fischer Bearings (FAG), all in Stratford. She was a charter member of the Shakespeare Opti-Mrs, a member of Shakespeare Presbyterian Church, Shakespeare Presbyterian Ladies Aid and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed traveling and cruises, oil painting, crocheting, coaching bowling and house league ball and watching her granddaughters grow over the years.
She married Donald John “Donnie” Pitts on October 6, 1961. He predeceased her on January 25, 2014.
Audrey is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Larry Schwartzentruber; granddaughters, Meghan Schwartzentruber, Ashley and husband Bailey Davis and Emily Schwartzentruber (Jaris Marriott), her sister, Lorene “Tootie” Brodhagen; her special godson and nephew, Jason Pitts; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John “Jack” and Mary Graham Pitts, Carole and Wilf Mohr, Jean Pitts and Don Burton; several nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Laverne and Sharon Ackersviller; brothers-in-law, Jack Brodhagen and Larry Pitts; sister-in-law, Kathy Burton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John “Jack” and Beatrice Pitts.
Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Tuesday May 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private family funeral service will be held at Shakespeare Presbyterian Church on Wednesday May 11, 2022. The Rev. Rob Congram will officiate. Interment in St. Andrew’s Cemetery (North Easthope), Township of Perth East.
