Audrey Lovine Silver 19202022

Audrey Lovine Silver
1920-2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Lovine
Silver, 101, on August 28, 2022 at Mahone Nursing Home.
Born in Blockhouse on November 30, 1920, she was the youngest and last
surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Regina (Demone) Ernst;
her husband, Everett; son, Vernon and granddaughter, Sarah Wentzell;
sisters, Leila Joudrey, Jennie Joudrey, Frances Haugen, Emily Curll,
and Geraldine Slauenwhite; brothers, Ellard, Walter, Stanley and two
infant brothers.
She is survived by daughters, Faye (Dan) MacNeil; Marilyn (Gary)
Wentzell, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Silver-Crouse (Sheldon);
grandchildren, Kim (Allan) Larkin, Kevin Silver (Angela), Kelly
Silver, Ian (Marianne) MacNeil, Michael MacNeil and Anna (Wentzell)
Bellows; great-grandchildren Melissa, Trevor, Megan, Eric, Ben, Rory,
Kenzie and Gabriel and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Audrey was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church,
Mahone Bay where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She was
a gentle soul with a warm smile and she remained young at heart
throughout her life. “Nannie Audrey” enjoyed going for
Sunday drives, playing cards, swinging on her hammock, going to
dances, summer trips to Faye’s in Ontario, Christmases at
Carolyn’s, and attending the Big Ex with her grandchildren. She
also loved music and enjoyed playing her organ and guitar; she was
self-taught and played everything by ear.
Audrey lived at her home in Blockhouse, and in the last three years at
home, Marilyn and Gary moved in to care for her. Audrey will forever
be remembered for her love of family, love of sparkly things and
jewelry, her painted nails, her positive outlook on life and her
ability to see the beauty in all things. She lived a simple, happy
life and will be greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held 11am, Friday September 2, 2022 at St.
John’s Lutheran Church, 89 Edgewater t., Mahone Bay, Pastor
Brooklynn Lane officiating. The family requests that mask’s be worn.
Burial to follow at Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or
Garden of Rest Cemetery.
Special thanks to the staff at Mahone Nursing Home who cared for our
beloved Nannie Audrey with kindness and compassion over the past 6

comfort to our family and a testimony of the impact she had on the
