Audrey’s Obituary
BOYLAN, Audrey Doris ~ Age 88, of Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022, in Grand View Manor, Berwick, with her daughter Gail by her side. Born on July 20, 1933, in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Ford R. and Frances E. (Sullivan) Drew. Audrey was a hairdresser by profession, and had been employed at Patterson’s Beauty Salon, Kentville, before working on her own. She had managed the canteen at Kejimkujik National Park for 10 years. Audrey later provided childcare for many local children in her own home. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish, Berwick. Audrey enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking. She enjoyed travelling, vacations and trips to Florida with family. Audrey loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will all miss her dearly. In her later years she resided at Grand View Manor where she enjoyed time spent playing bingo and working on puzzles with fellow residents. Surviving are her daughter, Gail (Shane) Spicer; son, Kevin (Deborah) Boylan, both of Berwick; grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Boylan; Katie Mealey and Mary Belliveau; great grandchildren, Braydon, Brielle, Brynn and Brighton; brothers, Wayne (the late Ruth) Drew, Porters Lake; David (Elaine) Drew, Auburn; brother-in-law, Waldo Morton, New Germany; sister-in-law, Fran Drew, Auburn; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John R. Boylan; son, John Joseph Boylan in infancy; daughter, Carol Boylan-Hartling; grandson, Alexander Belliveau; great grandson, Grayson Boylan; sisters, Ruby Morton, Gwen Hutchinson and Gayle (Fred) Smith; brother, Reginald Drew. There will be no visitation or service. A private interment will take place at a later date in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to Diabetes Canada. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Grand View Manor, who were so kind and special with Audrey’s care. Special thanks to Michelle Burnett, Angela Walsh, Sue, Sharon, Debbie, Erica, Nancy, Wendy, Dixon, Jared, Kayla, Joannie, Brianna, Tammy, Reema and Amanda.
