Arthur Floyd Art Olson 1946 2022

Obituary of Arthur Floyd Olson
Arthur (Art) Olson was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on September 18, 1946 and passed away after a brief illness on August 28, 2022.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Kathleen. He was fiercely proud of his five children, Kathleen, Lorelei, Sherilyn (Kregg), Trevor (Rena) and Morgan (Payge); and his stepdaughters, Jessica (Gerson) and Joleen. He will be greatly missed by his sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Janice and Lynda; sister-in-law, Dawn; and his brother, Stan. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Allan and Howard.
Art grew up on a farm east of Hawarden, Saskatchewan, part of a loving family atmosphere filled with noise and laughter. There was always room for another at the table. He had countless fond memories of times with special cousins, games with family and friends and family traditions carried on to this day.
It was in growing up on the prairies that he developed his love of hunting and the outdoors. He also had a love for travel and enjoyed many trips with his wife Kathleen, who shared this passion. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle heart, his love of animals and his generosity of spirit, especially in volunteering and helping others. He was a dedicated and faithful servant of God and a long-time member of Rock of Ages church in Saskatoon.
Art was a member of the Saskatoon Police force for 34 ½ years, wearing the badge proudly.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends as well as his loyal companion of 13 years, Hachi.
A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rock of Ages Lutheran Brethren Church (130 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK.).
